You are the only person who you will wake up next to, every day, for the rest of your life. Learning to love yourself and treat yourself as you would a friend is an important part of feeling confident, happy, and at peace.
Society gives us many messages about who we should strive to be and what it means to be successful or deserving of happiness. Frequently, loved ones, whether purposefully or not, also give messages about our worth, if we are “good enough”, and who we are or should be (e.g., based on our bodies, hobbies, or comparisons with other people). Challenging these messages or feeling like you are good enough can seem almost impossible. If you are finding that you speak negatively toward yourself, or avoid spending time with people or doing activities you enjoy because of negative feelings you have about yourself, I would love to help you find peace.
