LGBTQ+ Related Concerns

Individuals of the LGBTQ+ community have frequently faced oppression that causes pain, internalized homophobia or transphobia, and isolation. It can be terrifying to enter into a space hoping to obtain support, but not knowing if you will experience further oppression and rejection. As marginalized sexual identities and gender identities can be hidden identities, that you choose to allow someone to know, it is truly an honor to be let into your authentic world. It is my hope that I am able to provide a space that allows you to be yourself, or if you are not sure who that self is, to explore your feelings and thoughts to gain a better understanding.

Whatever your specific concern may be, I would be honored to have you allow me into your world and to provide a safe space for you to heal and empower yourself.

In addition to providing individual therapy for issues related to gender and sexual identity, my experience in working with the LGBTQ+ community includes facilitating a support group for LGB+ individuals, delivering LGB+ and Transgender Ally trainings, participating as a therapist on a Queers and Allies consultation and outreach team, and collaborating with a university LGBT Resource Center to develop outreach programs.
